Amir's Men's Basketball Cup Championship

The Amir's Men's Basketball Cup Championship for the 2023-2024 season commences today (Saturday) with two matches. The first match will be between Qatar SC and Al-Wakrah, while the second match will see Al-Khor facing Al-Gharafa. Both matches will take place at the Al-Gharafa Club hall.

The draw for the Amir's Men's Cup Championship has the teams divided into two groups. The first group consists of Al-Arabi (the league champion this season), Al-Wakrah, Al-Gharafa, Qatar SC, and Al-Khor. On the other hand, the second group includes four teams: Al-Ahli (the runner-up), Al Rayyan, Al Sadd, and Al Shamal.

The tournament will follow a league system, where each group will compete in a single round. In the second round, the second-placed team from the first group will face the third-placed team from the second group, and vice versa. Additionally, the first-placed team from the second group will compete against the winner of the first match in the second round, while the first-placed team from the first group will face the winner of the second match in the second round, leading to the semi-finals.

The semi-finals will be held in a five-match playoff system, with the two winners needing to win three out of five matches to qualify for the final round. The final match, which will determine the champion, is scheduled to take place on May 24.

The first round of the tournament will continue until April 27. Following that, the two second round matches will be held on April 30. The semi-final matches are scheduled for May 4, 7, 11, 14, and 18. Finally, the highly anticipated final match will take place on May 24.
