321 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum
Dr. Kevin Moore has worked in the museums sector for more than 35 years career and currently
serves as Deputy Director, Curatorial Affairs at the Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum.
Dr. Moore began his career at National Museums Liverpool in the UK. For five years, he was a
lecturer in the Department of Museum Studies, University of Leicester, UK. Dr. Moore then took
up the role of founding Director of the National Football Museum for England. He successfully
established the National Football Museum in the city of Preston in 2001. In 2012, he led the
creation of the new National Football Museum in Manchester, which attracted over 500,000
visitors each year.
Dr. Moore is an expert in museum studies, sports history and sports museums and heritage. He
has published extensively on aspects of museums, sport and culture in academic and professional
journals. For nine years Kevin was the Chair of the organisation of the UK’s sports museums. Dr.
Moore has also advised sports museums around the world, and he has published a number of
popular books on aspects of sport, culture and social history.
